Homeopathy

Homeopathic survey

Homeopathy is the second-most used healing method in the world. It is based on the principle of "like cures like." Homeopathy's safe, non-toxic, over-the-counter, F.D.A. regulated remedies stimulate the immune system to follow its natural direction to heal itself from recognized traumas. It gently treats the mind and body to optimize one's health.

Homeopathic assessments are by request and consists of an initial ninety minute session, which includes determining a "constitutional remedy" that represents your present state of health (mental, emotional, and physical); homeopathic education and information regarding remedies for acute problems; and follow-up phone updates. A forty-five minute follow-up appointment usually in 4-6 weeks will determine the effectiveness and any adjustments regarding the treatment (further appoinments if needed are usually for thirty minutes). The above process can be integrated within regular psychotherapy sessions.

What is Homeopathy?

Homeopathy is a system of healing developed by the German physician Samuel Hahnemann in the 19th century. It uses remedies made primarily from natural substances which have been clinically proven to match problematic symptoms. The FDA approved remedies are diluted many times leaving only its molecular structure imprinted on the water it was dissolved in. It is this imprint that stimulates the immune system to heal itself.

Homeopathy is part of conventional health care systems in Europe and South Asia. There were once homeopathic hospitals throughout the United States during the first part of the twentieth century including over two dozen in New Jersey (Montclair Community Hospital; Saint Mary's in Passaic; Homeopathic Hospital of Essex County in East Orange, to mention a few) and it is now being rediscovered throughout North America. Two hundred years of clinical experience have demonstrated the effectiveness of homeopathic remedies. Further information can be found through:

An excellent advocacy organization to which I personally encourage membership.

What is it good for?

It works well with physical symptoms (colds, flu, headaches, muscular injuries etc.) or mental situations (learning disabilities, low self esteem, depression, anxieties, addiction behaviors, OCD etc.). It is especially effective when there is a strong mind-body component such as stress-related conditions like ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Many times the homeopathic process helps people discover new connections between their emotions and symptoms.

How to Take Your Remedy From a Medicinal Solution

homeopathic remedy

Before taking a dose, each time succuss the remedy solution bottle; that is, hit the bottle against the palm of your hand or a book as directed (2-10 times). This will increase the potency of the dose slightly each time. The number of succussions and the amount you take is a way of controlling the effectiveness of the remedy.

Take one teaspoon (or more as directed) from the remedy solution bottle and put it into approximately 4 oz. of water (or more as directed), this is your Dosage Cup . I use the 5 oz Dixie cups, filled approximately one inch from the top with distilled, filtered or spring water. Stir with a spoon , preferably a disposable one which you use for this remedy, not for food or other remedies.

Take one teaspoon (or more as directed) from the Dosage Cup as your dose . Discard the rest of the water in the cup (it is great for your plants!). Repeat the whole process for each dose you are directed to take . No food or drink 15 minutes before and after taking the remedy.
